Privacy policy
Settled is a seating planner made by a small UK team. This page explains what personal information we hold, why, and what your rights are. The short version: we keep only what we need to run your planner and stay in touch, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
What we collect, and why
- When you buy Settled: your name and email address, passed to us by Stripe after checkout, so we can create your account, send your welcome email, and let you sign in later. Your card details go to Stripe directly; we never see or store them.
- When you sign in: your email, and a sign-in cookie on your device (see cookies below).
- When you use the planner: the rooms, seating plans and event details you create are saved on your device, and, when you are signed in, mirrored to your account so they follow you between devices. Guest names you type in are part of that plan data; we only store them to show your plan back to you.
- When you contact us: your name, email, venue and message, so we can reply.
- When you join our email list: your email address, used only to send the occasional Settled email. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
We do not run advertising or sell personal information, and we do not use third-party analytics on this site.
Who helps us process it
A small number of services process data on our behalf: Stripe handles payments, Resend delivers our emails, and Cloudflare hosts the site and stores account and plan data. Each processes data under their own security and privacy commitments, and some processing may take place outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
Cookies and local storage
We set one cookie, settled_s, when you sign in. It keeps you signed in on that device for up to 90 days and is strictly necessary for the service, which is why there is no cookie banner. The planner also uses your browser's local storage to keep your plans available offline. Clearing your browser data removes both.
How long we keep things
Account and plan data is kept while your account is active so your plans are there when you come back. Contact messages are kept for as long as we need them to help you. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except the minimal records we must keep for tax and accounting.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and take your data elsewhere. Email kiya@justlaunch.uk and we will sort it, no forms, no fuss. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update this page and, for significant changes, email account holders.
